Breaking MLM News: Jim & I just got the news and was able to verify it through Bob Lindsey the Exec. VP. of Cutting Edge Media, and Brian Hunt CEO of Opportunity Connection, that Phil Longenecker the Founder of Cutting Edge Media, the world’s largest MLM lead generation company was killed last night in a car crash.

Jim had been doing business like most other leaders in MLM for years. And I had known Phil personally for years. Our hearts goes out to his family and staff at Cutting Edge.

Phil Longenecker and Shawn Kelly launched CEM around the same time Kevin Lehmann launched ProSTEP. For many years both companies worked side by side in supporting the Network marketing community with high quality lead generation.

In 2005, when ProSTEP closed its doors, Phil and Cutting Edge Media climbed to the top as the World’s #1 Lead Generation Company. They expanded their operation to Salt Lake City (The World Capital of MLM Companies) and added several cutting edge services, including online systems and custom lead stores for top leaders in just about every MLM company in business today.

Over the last few years Phil and his team at CEM expanded its publishing empire to include some of the most recognized names in Home Based Business Magazines:

Opportunity Connection
Simply Home
True Wealth
Home Business

Under Phil’s leadership this small two man operation became a multi-million dollar success story.
Phil’s original vision was to make CEM the leading provider of marketing, advertising, and lead generation solutions for the home business industry.

There is no doubt in my mind, his vision will live on!!!

Phil R.I.P… We will miss you!

Our hearts go out to Phil’s family and his extended family at Cutting Edge media.

For all of you who knew Phil or want to pass along your heart felt responses. Please do so in the comments and we’ll pass them along.

Rest In Peace

Phil treated the USANA Family wonderfully and was extraordinarily giving to those who worked with the CEM advertising programs. We are devastated to lose such a brilliant business friend and send our best to his family and those at CEM!

Phil touched so many people in business and family. My heart goes out to his loved ones…especially his daughter.

P.S. My boy Shawn Kelly helped jump start the success at CEM. Love you though Bob!

This is certainly sad news for friends, family and the profession alike. His talents and moxie carried CEM to a prominent place in our profession. As his vision grew so did the business. Combining the ideas and strategies of his team he not only grew his enterprise but the businesses of thousands around the globe. Prayers on his passing and condolences to all.

    Gery,

What you stated is so true. Phil was always willing to give back, even to friendly competitors such as myself. I always loved the fact he would watch what others were doing and then do it better. And… When field leaders came to him asking for something specific, he would get his team on it and create something custom for them.

He left a legacy behind, and will be truly missed.

    Never Give Up,
    Troy

LOL… Michael I tried to catch my mistake. Bobby was such a vital part for some many years. But, I love Shawn and he has help our team so much over the years.

  9. Troy says:

    Patti,

You are so right. Phil loved all the companies and their leaders. I remember going to him while I was at ProSTEP asking him if I could steal some of his talented team, because they had created some great USANA marketing campaigns.

    Thank you for commenting.

    Never Give Up,

    Troy
